How To Build A Solar Panel – Part 18 (Final Video)
Watch in HD www.solartechtown.com I, Robert Smith, show you every step I take to building a custom made solar panel from scratch. I explain in detail about each item I use and why to use it, so the video is fairly long. I will be hosting the majority of the video on my own server so you can view it all in one take. It will take time to edit the video, but the more of you that subscribe to the video, the faster I’ll try to get it out to you guys as it just shows that people are interested and appreciate what I’m doing, as I’m providing this video for free unlike some videos you see on YouTube. The method I described in this video is just one way to go about it, however, there are many ways you can build a custom solar panel. Some use aluminum or plastic frames, but I found for a beginner, working with wood would probably be easier and cheaper. Overall, building a solar panel can be fun, but there are many factors that play into building a solar panel, and I as well still have an extreme amount to still learn about it. So I hope that for those wanting to learn more about solar energy and wanting to take the adventure of building their own solar panel will find this video very useful. To watch to full video just video, just visit www.solartechtown.com Again the video is fairly large, so to prevent from having to put 6 or 7 parts on youtube in 10 minute sections, I’m just going to host in on my server. If you all have ANY questions, feel free to leave a comment under the …
Thanks for the videos. Do you know if solar panels need to be grounded to protect against lightning strikes?
Thanks for the videos. You answered a few of my questions during the videos that i had.
Now Iwill be ordering my supplies to build a solar panel.
You are awesome. We are just about to build one and will keep you posted!! Thank you Robert for being so amazing and so talented and caring enough to share it with us!!!
Totally Subscribed and back with more! U R a genius!
Your presentation is wonderful. Even someone with no understanding for how to build (like me) can follow your instructions. Thank you so much.
I agree, you are one the the greats of the modern age, as far as knowledge transfer. You’ve inspired me to build one for my RV over the winter here…
I’m ready for Part 19! Building An 80 watt Aluminum Frame Solar Panel!
Peace!
Cool stuff, I didn’t know anything about solar panels, and actually feel I can build one now. Something I was waiting for in the videos is what kind of electronics you could plug into this baby and for how long, and what would happen if you plugged in something that uses more than 63 watts, but besides that there is tons and tons of info in your videos. Also, yes I would love to see another video on building an aluminum solar panel, and with more power.
Robert,
Thank you very much for taking the time to share this information and a method of how to do this! You have answered many questions for me. All the very best to you
My name is Lewis Adeola Ogunade-Paul my comment on this video is fantastic this is first time i will see a video on solar power that i understood very well i feel i have been to a college to learn about solar power. The interesting part was how he demonstrated the different between whole and broken cell. its clear and down to earth. God bless you Robert Smith. I am 73years old from Nigeria.
Bro! i watch a lot of videos on solar ( probably all they got on the net ). Yours are one of the best and surely the more complete i have seen. Terrific.!
man thanks for breaking me in on solar panels. I am so excited I just got my 5×5 cells in the mail. I m going to use angle iron and glass. I really want to see you build the alluminum one. get going on it so I can see how to do it thanks. I want mine to be heavy duty. make your video man I cant wait. Stay cool.
Hi Robert. Thanks for this extraordinary video. It was very descriptive and i learned alot about the difference between Watts, Volt and Amps.
Only question that wasn’t covered, is how much battery power do you need to store the power collected. Probably the more power you will use the more banking you need? thanks again
welldone
put some more solar panels and another battery. thanks
I just finished watching all 18 videos. Very instructive. You must have put a ton of time into them. Wow. How about doing a video on how to build an inverter? I understand there are ones available that you can plug into any wall outlet and backfeed the house electrical system. I’m guessing you could just buy the individual components and put them together for much cheaper than the cost of one available on the market (i.e. $3000 for 2500kw inverter).
I’m sharing this with the world and once I finishing building mine, I’m going to build them for poor people that got laid off. Thank you so much for your time!
GREAT video series. My 3×3 cells just arrived in the mail and to my dismay – some have been cracked across them – meaning across the width of 6 inches. They are pre-tabbed and the tabbing on the top is still holding them together. Does this mean they should still give out the 1.7 watts if they didn’t have this crack as they are still in one piece?
Robert . i just got to your last Video ty for all you have done for free yes you are right wen you said FREE ! you are the Solar King of free solar Buildit your self step by step! ty irocx29.
Robert , I just want to thank you from the bottom of my hearth. WOW this was Great. You really can teach an old man like me ,new tricks. You are an inspiration to us all. I can see our lord is going to do great things thru you. I have watched thousands of videos but yours are the Tops. May God bless you and keep up the good works. Thanks man
Wow i will be taking a go at this next month. Thank you very much for the videos very full and explained everything in great detail.
Man you better than 50cent
thanks man your the best among the rest lol!
Robert, Thanks for these great videos, I watched your whole series and learned quite a bit, very fun as well. Excellent Man!
Hey dude I am sure that your videos regarding solar panel are the best among all the videos (related to solar panels) on youtube. You really did fantastic job. Your explanation so clear and perfect. Thank you so much.
i like the video
Great video. Thank you so much for instructions. I’m on my eighth panel now (advertised 3×6 ~1.8w Evergreens). . I have a boat with an electric motor and when I dock it, I just hook it up to my 65wp panel and never worry that it runs out. Another one charges the pump in the filtration system of my artificial pond.
