If you are going to the a US style of windmill then you have to use solid steel blades. If you are planning on creating a Fixed mounted style windmill then you should wooden blades with sails or caves draped over the blades. When you’re done creating the windmill you have to tilt the blades so they catch the wind and you also  move the head against the direction of the wind.

To build the base of the windmill, attach one of the 90-degree PVC fitting to one of the 6-inch PVC pipe sections and then attach the other end of the 6-inch piece to the T fitting. Once you have the base with the T build, you have to then attach another 6-inch piece to the other side of the T fitting, so that it forms a straight line from the 90-degree fitting. Then after you have finished that close off the 6-inch piece with another 90 degree fitting.

Once you are done building that one build another one just like it. Now you attach a 6-inch PVC piece to each part of the T fitting that are open. Then attach those two 6-inch pieces to the last T fitting and have the hole of the T facing the opposite direction of the 90-degree fittings.

One Important Step You Must Not Over Look

The most important step when you build your own windmill is the position and the shape of the blade that you make. The blades have to be made the correct way otherwise the blades will not spin no matter how much wind you have blowing at it. When making your windmill blades you should follow the specifications that are in the plan.
