UMass Medical School celebrates Earth Day 2011
The UMass Medical School community got to celebrate Earth Day 2011on the Worcester campus a little earlier than the rest of the country. On Wednesday, April 20, both Medical School lobbies were filled to capacity with curious visitors talking with exhibitors and vendors about all things green—from honey to hybrids. This annual event welcomed back previous vendors like TechniArt, which sells energy efficient light bulbs, and Mass Polar Beverages, which handed out free samples of their popular sodas, and welcomed new exhibitors like Bancroft School, which showed off a solar-powered popcorn popper, and Northeast Recycling, which carted off truck loads of recycled electronics. See highlights of the event in this video.
