Melting Cans with the Sun Solar Fresnel Lens Solar Death Ray

greenpowerscience.com FAQ “can you melt cans” This video illustrates the ease of melting and burning very thin metal. For some reason, a lot of questions came in about this over the past week. The thinner the material is, the less square area it has to dissipate heat collected. This lens is extremely powerful but would have a difficult time melting a 1 inch x 1 inch block of aluminum in open air. Metal masses require a crucible to retain the heat collected or they act like a heat sink. This is why heat sinks are usually at least 3/16″ thick. Also most metals become very shunt when molten ad reflect 50% of the light,

FRESNEL LENS SOLAR HOT WATER, Heat Solar Pool Heater Solar Swimming Pool Heater

greenpowerscience.com This is a large Fresnel Lens focused on a copper tube with a 12 V pump (powered by two 6 watt solar panels) with water circulating through the unit. Water, seven gallons, was raised from 63 F to 106 F in one hour. It is not super efficient as heat is lost at the open top of the glass tank. This is designed to illustrate one method of solar heating a swilling pool with a Large Fresnel Lens. TESTING HDD AQUA BLOCK.

STIRLING ENGINE SOLAR POWER PARABOLIC MIRROR ELECTRIC GENERATOR

www.greenpowerscience.com This is a larger Stirling engine that has a 12v DC Permanent Magnet motor operating fixed as the flywheel bearing. It produces 15 Volt max with NO LOAD. This setup as is produces about 15 watts. The heat sink is a water cooled tank that is a bit short for the displacement piston but does work. I will be adding some heat sinks soon and testing it with the 56 inch dish and a Fresnel Lens. The motor/generator has an additional pulley that the other engine I have may be tied to. The water can be fed continuously or as a tank.
