Reid Receives Solar Champion of the Year Award
Nevada Senator Harry Reid was named Solar Champion of the Year today by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) at a small award ceremony in Washington, DC SEIA presented Reid with the award because of his leadership in advancing the development of solar energy in Nevada and across the country. Positioning Nevada as a leader in developing clean energy has been a priority for Reid as a way to create jobs, diversify the economy and meet the states energy needs. Earlier this year, Reid announced an agreement with NV Energy, LS Power and the Western Area Power Administration to begin construction of a transmission line that would create hundreds of jobs and allow Nevada to fully take advantage of its renewable resources.
